Hello there!
Allow me to brush the dirt off my palms and introduce myself. I’m Madeline, a garden designer practicing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I create personalized gardens, utilizing my background in English garden design and my knowledge of native Western Pennsylvanian plants. If that sounds like a unique combination, keep reading!
I hold a BA in Economics from Denison University and later graduated from the Master Gardener program at Penn State University. Prior to starting my design business, I worked as field manager at a local flower farm and conducted professional flower trials for Penn State. I moved to England to study garden design, graduating with distinction from the Professional Garden Design program at the Cotswold Gardening School in Gloucester, England.
While in England, I worked at the Chelsea Flower Show, designed gardens for 1000-year-old manor houses, hauled rakes and shovels onto the London Tube, learned to hide my gardening gloves from mischievous neighborhood foxes, braved train strikes to visit gardens, and, of course, learned to make an excellent cup of tea.
Back in my hometown of Pittsburgh, I use my horticulture and design experience to craft outdoor spaces that are tailored to your lifestyle.
Let’s make your dream garden a reality!
Xx - Madeline
